AirPods input + computer speakers avoids a wireless return to your ears, but wireless input can still be late. Compare the Mac mic, a wired/USB mic, or an iPhone using Continuity.

All effects run locally. No audio upload, recording, camera or AI model download. Leaving this tab or changing devices stops the mic; it never restarts itself.
